Pink Shirt Day is a moment for us all to recommit to the ongoing work of eliminating bullying from our communities. We come a little closer to that goal every time we refuse to allow harassment and bullying to go unchecked and every time we reach out with love and compassion to those among us who need our understanding and support. It’s for each of us to take responsibility for making our own corner of the world kinder, safer and more accepting of all people.
As Her Majesty the Queen’s representative in Alberta, I offer my heartfelt thanks to all those across our province who are devoted to eliminating bullying, particularly for children and youth. Your tireless efforts are helping to ensure that young Albertans enjoy the peace, security and self-confidence they need to grow into strong and caring adults.
Her Honour, the Honourable Salma Lakhani AOE, B.Sc., Lieutenant Governor of Alberta
