Canadian Multiculturalism Day is an opportunity to celebrate the wonderfully vibrant tapestry of cultures, faiths and traditions that stands as a central part of who we are as a people. This special day also reminds us that the work of building a peaceful, welcoming and inclusive society for all is an ongoing process. Each of us can play a meaningful role in fostering understanding in our communities, through our continued commitment to listening to, and learning from, one another.
As Her Majesty the Queen’s representative in Alberta, I offer heartfelt thanks to the community leaders, volunteers and engaged citizens who are leading the way in ensuring that the rich multicultural spirit of our country continues to shine for generations to come.
