As we mark the International Day of Education for 2022, I would like to offer my heartfelt thanks to all of Alberta’s teachers and educators. The pandemic has demanded an extraordinary level of energy, skill and innovation from each of you, and you have responded with remarkable determination. You have truly been frontline heroes as we navigate through this extraordinary time, and your ongoing commitment to keeping our students engaged and moving forward with their learning is essential, not just to their education and well-being, but to the future of our province as a whole.
I also offer my sincere thanks to the dedicated instructors, mentors, not-for-profit leaders and community volunteers who work to share the transformative power of education with learners of all ages, here at home and around the world. Every life is made infinitely better by the opportunities and possibilities that education provides. It is the door to a stronger future, and it is a gift that deserves to be celebrated today and every day.
