As Lieutenant Governor, I join with my fellow Albertans in wishing a warm welcome to His Holiness Pope Francis to our province.
We recognize the enormous significance of the presence locally by His Holiness, and sincerely hope that this much-awaited visit and his words will bring comfort and solace to Residential School survivors and their descendants.
We wish His Holiness a meaningful ‘Penitential Pilgrimage’ towards Indigenous reconciliation and that its positive impact will be felt across Canada.
