On Wednesday, September 9, 2015, Queen Elizabeth II becomes the longest-reigning monarch in Canadian and British history, surpassing the record established by her great-great-grandmother, Queen Victoria. She also becomes the longest-reigning female monarch in the world.
With the death of the Honourable Norman Kwong, Albertans and all Canadians have lost an exceptional leader and role model. He exemplified the power of hard work and persistence, gracefully overcoming cultural and ethnic barriers of the past with trademark wit, warmth and dignity.
